KENORA, ON – This summer, the Kenora Food Bank would like to remind you that Hunger Doesn’t Take a Vacation. Every year during the busy days of summer, donations to the food bank’s shelves slow down while the need remains constant.

Coming to the rescue of the Food Bank this August are the men and women of Emergency Services. Local OPP, Treaty 3 Police, Fire and Paramedic workers will be at Safeway in Kenora every Friday in August between noon and 4 P.M., staffing a boat courtesy of K-Sports Marine. Come down and help to stuff a boat by bringing in a non-perishable food or monetary donation.

To date, the campaign has raised a total of 610 kg (1345 lbs) of food and nearly $1500 in cash to help fill the food bank pantry.

If you can’t make it down to Safeway on a Friday afternoon, you can also aid The Salvation Army in filling this need by calling 807-468-8452 to make your donation.
