Members of The Salvation Army, along with Calgary Alderman, Andre Chabot, gathered together to mark the beginning of a renovation for The Salvation Army Forest Lawn Mission. The Salvation Army church located at 3720 19 Avenue SE was opened in 1962 and needs updating. The major expansion will make the building wheelchair accessible and will include a brand new kitchen.

Captain Pam Goodyear, Divisional Secretary for Public Relations & Development, says the renovations are long overdue, “We have a lot of seniors that come to the mission. We want to make it more accessible, and with a new kitchen we can offer programs like a community kitchen which will serve as an outreach and increase our various social programs in the local community.”
