The Salvation Army Thompson Thrift Store Damaged by Vandals
Thompson, MB – The Salvation Army today is cleaning up after vandals broke into its Thrift Store between the hours of 10:30 pm and midnight last night. Damage to the Thrift Store is extensive with furniture, clothing and items being destroyed.
“Regretfully the Thrift Store has received extensive damages. Almost everything of value has been destroyed,” states Major Ronald Mailman, “At this time we are unsure when we will be able to reopen the Thrift Store as we have to repair and replace a number of items. We are asking our supporters who regularly donate their gently used items to please not drop them off at this time as we have nowhere presently to store them.”
The Salvation Army would like to reassure the community that it will continue to provide the valuable assistance offered by its Thrift Store as soon as we are able to return to the location and restock our inventory. In the meantime, anyone requiring assistance is encouraged to contact The Salvation Army at (204) 677-3658.
The RCMP are on hand completing an investigation.
