Go RVing Canada Helping Those in Need With RV Holiday Food Drive
(Ottawa, ON) December 20th, 2010 –Today, Go RVing Canada donated an RV full of non-perishable food to The Salvation Army in Ottawa, Ontario. The donation was presented to the international organization through a live ‘A’ Morning segment, during which Go RVing Canada accepted food donations from the surrounding community.
“In the spirit of the holiday season, Go RVing Canada wanted to lend a hand to those in need by taking part in The Salvation Army’s Annual Christmas Campaign,” said Go RVing Canada Spokesperson Angèle Lapointe. “It was wonderful to be part of such an important fundraising event. The response from the community was remarkable and Go RVing Canada would like to thank all of those who showed support for this event!”
During the event, Go RVing Canada was joined by several volunteers from The Salvation Army, who helped to collect food donations and served hot beverages to passersby’s.
“The Salvation Army is extremely thankful for the support from Go RVing Canada, ‘A’ Morning and the Ottawa community,” said Michael Maidment, Head of Public Relations and Development for The Salvation Army in Eastern Ontario. “Every time someone gives to our organization, they are helping to restore hope and dignity to Canadians most in need.”
The coalition also reminded ‘A’ Morning Ottawa viewers that, just because winter has arrived, that does not mean that Canadians cannot still enjoy an RV vacation. “Off-season RVing is definitely something worth considering,” said Lapointe. “It’s unique and exciting and practiced by thousands of RVers across Canada who are seeking a one of a kind experience.”
