Devoted Mission Partners Share Common Passion of Improving Lives

Carol and Louis Cincelli shine as beacons of hope in their local community with every moment they volunteer their time to support the most vulnerable.
Drawn by a sense of belonging following retirement, it was Carol’s time assisting with her church’s administration that sparked a desire to give back eight years ago, and soon after she invited her husband, Louis, along to fulfill the church’s mission to bring hope where there is hardship.
And for the past six years, the heroes behind the shield have been volunteering every Thursday at The Salvation Army Mississauga Community Church, bringing comfort and compassion to the most vulnerable.
“Knowing we are improving peoples’ lives is truly rewarding and we’re thankful in being able to assist anyone in need,” Carol says. “The staff and volunteers here go above and beyond and we’re glad to be part of this team to help out in our own small way.”
During the 12-hours a month spent at the food bank, the couple tirelessly organize and stock shelves, ensuring that the community’s most vulnerable have access to essential supplies. But their contributions extend far beyond the pantry. From assisting with the Christmas toy drive to packing winter clothing, Carol and Louis lend a hand wherever they are needed.
With each task, their enthusiasm brings happiness to those around them.
For Carol, the joy lies in the camaraderie she shares with her fellow volunteers and the opportunity to work alongside a diverse team working toward a common goal. For Louis, his efforts are a continuation of a lifelong passion for service–and they both cherish the shared purpose they’ve discovered through their volunteerism.
