Christmas is just a few days away, and staff and volunteers at The Salvation Army Etobicoke Temple are working hard right up to the last possible moment to bring holiday joy to local children and families.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford continued his annual tradition of giving to The Salvation Army’s Christmas toy drive by dropping off a big bag of toys at Etobicoke Temple on Tuesday. In total, about 200 toys were donated by local MPPs.  Premier Ford encouraged residents who are able to donate a new unwrapped toy to help put a smile on a child’s face this Christmas.

“We are grateful for the ongoing support of Premier Ford, and we appreciate his long-standing connection to The Salvation Army and Etobicoke Temple. This innovative partnership with the Premier’s Office helps to ensure we have gifts for every child in need, and we thank Mr. Ford for his care and compassion this holiday season,” said Etobicoke Temple Major Dana Reid.

For many years now, Premier Ford has supported the Etobicoke community by giving annually to The Salvation Army to help provide hope, positivity and a brighter future to anyone in need at Christmas and throughout the year.

The Salvation Army provides more than a toy at Christmas. Year round, The Army works in local communities like Etobicoke to lift people up in challenging times with life-changing programs and services for adults, families and children.
