Essential PPE for The Salvation Army Emergency Shelter Services Made Possible Through Rogers Family Donation
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is an essential item needed for The Salvation Army Ontario Division’s Emergency Shelter Services to function during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to a generous $480,000 donation from the Rogers Family, all Emergency Shelter Services’ employees and clients now have access to PPE.
“This donation from the Rogers Family significantly helped The Salvation Army Ontario Division distribute PPE to all of our Emergency Shelter Services locations across Ontario,” said Dan Millar, Divisional Director of Community Partnerships and Emergency Disaster Services for the Salvation Army Ontario Division. “Without this significant contribution, it is extremely hard to fathom what the outcomes may have been.”
ASTM Level 1 Certified face masks (300,000), N95 masks (20,000), face shields (5,000), isolation gowns (30,000), hand sanitizer (10,000 bottles), and nitrile and vinyl gloves (600, 000) were distributed to Emergency Shelter Services.
“Our Emergency Shelter Services staff are our frontline responders, they perform amazing work and help our clients in various capacities,” said Millar. “The PPE was critical in keeping both our staff and clients safe during these unprecedented times.”
