Salvation Army Day with the London Majors
More than 250 Salvationists, friends and supporters joined with hundreds of other Londoners at Labatt Memorial Park in London for “Salvation Army Day” with the London Majors Baseball Club on Friday, June 5th. A Salvation Army Band ensemble played the National Anthem prior to the start of the game and Public Relations & Development Representative, Perron Goodyear, threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Nine-year old Amanda Leach represented the Army and served as “bat girl” during the game.
Throughout the game announcers reminded those in attendance about The Salvation Army’s presence and invited them to visit the Army booth which was set-up. In addition, a large banner has been hung at the ball park which will remain for the entire season. Fifty percent from every ticket sold prior to the game was donated to The Salvation Army.
“We are so grateful to the London Majors for their support”, says Perron Goodyear. “They are truly a great community organization and partner.”
Local radio station Classic Rock, Free 98-1 sponsored “Salvation Army Day” providing great promotion leading up to game day and was on-site for the game as well.
