PEI petroleum association makes contribution to oil assistance fund

    The Prince Edward Island Petroleum Marketer’s Association members recently announced a contribution of 9,600 litres of heating oil to The Salvation Army Oil Assistance Program for 2014. Over the past 6 years, the PEI Petroleum Marketer’s Association has generously donated more than 40,000 litres to the program, which opens on January 14.

    The PEI provincial government has allocated $121,200.00 to the program, which assists qualifying, low-income households by providing one furnace oil fill-up of up to 400 litres.     In Nova Scotia, the Good Neighbour Energy Fund will open on January 15, providing home heating assistance to qualifying, low-income Nova Scotians. A program of Nova Scotia Power, with financial support from the provincial government, Good Neighbour Energy Fund is now in its 17th year.
