The Salvation Army’s Annual Kettle Campaign down in donations.
With Christmas less than 2 weeks away, donations for The Salvation Army’s Annual Kettle Campaign are approximately $200,000 down this holiday season compared to 2012. The Salvation Army is seeking support from the community.
“We have currently raised a total of $1,347,094 in donations. The Salvation Army in British Columbia is currently at less than 50% of our target, with a goal to reach $4 million by Christmas Eve,” said Patricia Cuff, Divisional Secretary for Public Relations and Development in British Columbia. Additionally, The Salvation Army has seen two kettles stolen over the course of the Kettle Campaign demonstrating the need to call on the public for support now more than ever. The Salvation Army continues to see a greater need in the community with more individuals and families relying on programs, services and resources offered.
“The dollars raised through this effort are not only used at Christmas time, but throughout the year as the funds provide resources for our overall operation for the year ahead. We want to encourage supporters to please donate when they see a kettle and help us, help others,” Cuff shared.
People are encouraged to donate at kettles, by visiting www.FilltheKettle.com or, text GIVEBC to 45678 to make a $5 donation.
