Your Contributions Will Have Twice the Impact This GivingTuesday
The most wonderful time of the year is almost here! As the winter months approach, we can all sense the spirit of Christmas slowly taking over our homes, workplaces, and stores. The holiday season is a great time to give back, and GivingTuesday is a great day to start.
This year GivingTuesday takes place on Nov. 28. This initiative originated back in 2012 with a simple idea: it is a day for people to do good. As always, The Salvation Army honours GivingTuesday by building partnerships to increase the support for families in need across the country this Christmas season.
“Any donations you make to The Salvation Army this GivingTuesday will be matched by Deeks insurance, up to $100,000, until Dec. 31, 2023.”
Any donations you make to The Salvation Army this Giving Tuesday will be matched by Deeks insurance, up to $100,000, until Dec. 31, 2023. This means that your contributions will be able to help twice as many people this year. The generous gift matching will allow The Salvation Army to provide two times the food, essentials, and hope for families that require assistance.
“I want to thank The Salvation Army for their support. They helped me survive a crucial time in my life,” shared Leena, who previously received food assistance from The Salvation Army during Christmas.
Like Leena, many other families across Canada have received support. Thanks to our donors, The Salvation Army helped 1.5 million people with food, clothing, and practical assistance in the past year.

In the last few months, many people have struggled financially due to the increased costs of food and other essentials. People who hadn’t received essential support before, are now being forced to seek assistance. Last year, 31 percent more new households sought help with food and shelter at The Salvation Army.
“I didn’t have money to put food on the table. I came to The Salvation Army for help. I’d always been the giver. Now I was asking for assistance,” a grateful mother said.
For families experiencing financial hardship, there is still hope. You can help them by supporting The Salvation Army. The assistance provided for them can give them time to get back on their feet by ensuring they have everything they need in the meantime.
Let GivingTuesday inspire you and think about those who are unsure if they will be able to have food on the table this Christmas. Remember that your contribution no matter how small, can have a positive impact on someone’s life.
