It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The Santa Shuffle is back from December 4-5 in 37 cities across Canada, with more fun than ever to get runners shuffling right into the festive season!

In partnership with Running Room, the event that features an opening ceremony and runners’ choice of a 5K “Fun Run” or 1K “Elf Walk”, will be held virtually again for the 2021 season to keep everyone safe.

The virtual format might be the same as last year, but there are so many fresh new surprises! When shufflers sign up this year, they will get a free shirt and a festive pom-pom hat as a pledge incentive. (Hint: you can wear it as you run or walk)! Speaking of dressing up, keep on the lookout for our national contests such as the top runners in each province and best-dressed! Every shuffler will also get a medal for participating in the event.

The Santa Shuffle began unofficially in 1990 when a group of runners from a Running Room in Edmonton, Alta., decided to race to raise donations for The Salvation Army to help those less fortunate in their community. Now, more than 30 years later, the Santa Shuffle is a national event that helps the most vulnerable, all across Canada.

So, as you lace up, enjoy the fresh air and have tons of fun in the most exciting Santa Shuffle yet – you can be the reason someone in need this year has a very Merry Christmas.
