Salvation Army to Withdraw from Operations at A.R. Goudie Eventide Home
The Salvation Army announced today that, after much consideration and deliberation, the decision has been reached to withdraw from its operations at the A.R. Goudie Eventide Home located at 369 Frederick Street in Kitchener, Ontario.
A.R. Goudie has faced, and continues to face, resource issues and Salvation Army officials have now determined that they can no longer continue to operate this facility.
The A.R. Goudie Eventide Home is an 80 bed long-term care facility that has served the residents of Kitchener/Waterloo for 49 years. The mission at A. R. Goudie has been to provide the highest standard of holistic care to the sick and frail elderly in the Waterloo Region.
“The primary concern of Salvation Army officials remains the continued well-being of those under our care” says Lt. Colonel Lee Graves, Divisional Commander of the Ontario Great Lakes Division. “Our goal moving forward is to ensure the best possible outcomes for the residents, families and staff. I commit that during these days of transition, the high quality of care and service that has always been the priority at A.R. Goudie will continue”.
The Salvation Army will continue to serve the people in the Kitchener/Waterloo area on a daily basis through our other community programs:
• The Kitchener Community & Family Services
program at 300 Gage Ave.
• Kitchener New Directions at 657 King Street East
• The Child Parent Resource Centre at 75 Tillsley Drive
• The Kitchener Community Church at 75 Tillsley Drive
The Salvation Army greatly values its working partnership with the Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care and the Wellington/Waterloo LHIN which remains very important to us
