The Salvation Army is committed to serving others in more than 400 communities across Canada. The following are current snapshots of The Salvation Army at work during the week of March 3.

Hamilton, Ont.:

March break came early this week for Elizabeth Bagshaw elementary students who were forced into the cold without coats and boots after a fire in an unoccupied classroom Tuesday. The Salvation Army donated 100 coats and hats for the students. Read more.

Stratford, Ont.:

After a successful pilot project in 2013, The Salvation Army will help people tackle their taxes again this year. The program is geared primarily to lower-income residents, including single parents, seniors on a fixed income, Ontario Works and ODSP recipients. Read more.

Sutton, Ont.:

Seventeen students from across the Greater Toronto Area visited The Salvation Army Sutton Youth Shelter February 20 and 21. The visit was to create greater awareness about social issues and to encourage community engagement. Read more.
