Description
The Santa’s Workshop Supervisor provides support to the Community and Family Services during the Christmas season on a temporary basis. The purpose of this position is to oversee the setting up, executing and cleaning up for the Santa’s Workshop with their team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and manage the warehouse team
- Supervise the unpacking and organization of toys
- Organize and create a hospitable atmosphere for clients to come and receive Christmas Assistance
- Engage with volunteers and create a wonderful experience for them
- Communicate effectively with Director of CFS and team
- Assist with other Christmas activities as required
- Support Community and Family Services Programs as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a grade 12 certificate
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to contribute as a team player, projecting a positive professional and helpful attitude
- Ability to do systematic organization
- Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and adaptability.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Honest, courteous, and punctual; represent the organization in a positive, professional, and engaging manner.
- Must be flexible and teachable
- Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution.
- Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.
- Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
- Proven written and oral communication skills
TIME AND PLACE:
Hours of work are from 8:30am to 4:00 pm (Monday – Friday) with a ½ hour of unpaid lunch.
Two 15 minute paid breaks. There may be a need to work on evenings and weekends.
Work Term begins October 14, 2024 to December 31, 2024.
Place of work will change once warehouse is open. Information will be provided at interview.
