Sales Associate

The Sales Associate assists in all areas of the Thrift Store’s operation including: the efficient and effective reclamation, processing or distribution of warehouse goods; provides quality customer service; participation in the maintenance of an effective and attractive display merchandise in order to maximize profitability of the store.

• Provide positive and courteous service to customers.
• Process customer transactions at the sales counter including debit/credit sales ensuring accuracy and in accordance with policies and procedure.
• Accurate opening and closing of store procedures when required.
• Assist in keeping the general sales floor neat and clean, and ensure product displays are kept full and tidy.
• Keep stock rotated as per schedule.
• Work with volunteers as assigned
• Process donated items by unloading, sorting, packing, storing, and placing donations on sales floor.
• Separates recycling and garbage and process both accoridg to the direction given.
• Meets assigned daily targets
• Maintaines general cleanliness
• Shares janitorial duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

HOURS:  40 Hours per week – Tuesday to Saturday, 9 to 5:30

Education, Qualifications and Certifications:

• Completion of a formal post-secondary/college program of one academic year.

Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements

• Retail and cash experience is preferred.

• Excellent team and interpersonal skills
• Able to handle physical demands, which include lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds
• Can stand for extended periods
• Able to maintain composure when dealing with difficult customers
