Description

The Employment  Program Coordinator oversees the employment programs at The Ches Penney Centre of Hope in collaboration with the College of the North Atlantic.

This position is open to male and female applicants.

This is a Temporary Full time Position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take lead role in implementing the employment programs at Centre of Hope
  • Liaise with College of the North Atlantic instructors and administration
  • Liaise with government funders
  • Complete program proposals, reports to government funders, including budgetary and statistical reports
  • Coordinate all aspects of employment programs including: recruiting participants, conducting initial intake and assessment of employment program participants, seek out and arrange student work placements
  • Provide ongoing support to employment program participants
  • Network with and provide information sessions to potential referral agencies and potential employers regarding employment opportunities
  • Collect and post labour market information for participants regarding job openings, skill requirement and other occupational information
  • Collaborate with partner agencies, and other programs of Centre of Hope

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate degree in social sciences, education or related field
  • Experience in working with vulnerable populations

PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize, plan and network
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel; familiarity with LAMPS an asset
