Cleaner
Description
Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, the ARC Cleaner cleans as directed to ensure the facility is well maintained. The ARC Cleaner is responsible for a high standard of cleanliness to ensure the overall appearance of Victoria ARC is presentable to our residents, employees and other stakeholders.
We ask that staff keep and present in all areas of the ARC in the best way possible in order to maintain a positive environment necessary to the client's growth and comfort. We ask that all staff involved in the Environmental Department contribute to the quality of service offered to clients by exhibiting a positive attitude towards others.
Hours:
- 37.5 hours per week, Wednesday – Sunday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Clean Victoria ARC facilities and capital assets as directed.
- Replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
- Assist maintenance when needed.
- Assist with laundry duties as required.
- Cleans equipment after use each day.
- May be assigned other related duties as required.
CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
- The ARC cleaner directly interacts with other staff and clients within the Victoria ARC.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to Odors
- Exposure to chemicals
- Handling garbage
- Moving objects
- Dealing with sharp objects
- Will be required to lift objects/equipment up to 25lbs
- Will be required to stand for long periods of time

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- No specific educational requirements.
- Must be able to follow instructions, both verbal and written, work co-operatively with others, and complete to a satisfactory level all assigned tasks.
- Six months of related cleaning experience is encouraged.
- Occupational First Aid and Infectious Disease Control training are required within six months of starting position.
- Must provide own safety work boots.
- Must produce a copy of a negative result T.B. skin test.
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent.
- A clear vulnerable sector screening.
- A clean drivers abstract.
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
