Humber College Students Create Eye-catching Christmas Window Displays for Salvation Army

For the second year in a row, students from the Humber College Interior Decorating Program will donate their visual merchandising talents to 11 Salvation Army Thrift Stores in the Greater Toronto Area to create festive and eye-catching window displays for the Christmas season.

In conjunction to decorating the windows, the students will also select gently-used products from each Thrift Store to revamp into stylish and trendy must-have items.

“We’re thrilled to have the students volunteer their time and talents once again to help our Thrift Stores make an impact with their window displays. With the busy Christmas shopping season now upon us, this is an ideal time to capture the attention of our guests and passersby, and we’re especially grateful to have the help of these young, up-and-coming interior decorators,” said Tanisha Dunkley, National Marketing Manager for The Salvation Army, National Recycling Operations.

The students will be divided into several design teams and will spend three-weeks, from November 19-to December 7, at an assigned location to sketch their creative concepts and source gently-used goods to be featured in the window displays, as well as items to be repurposed. All windows are slated to be completed by the first week of December.
