Double Your Donation’s Impact This GivingTuesday

December 3 marks this year’s GivingTuesday, a day when your contributions can make an even bigger difference.
Every donation made to The Salvation Army on GivingTuesday is matched dollar for dollar. This means that donations made on this day have double the power to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
“The Salvation Army has been here for years, and they’ve always been reliable.”
The Salvation Army’s mission of giving hope and support to vulnerable people is made possible through generous donors.
Michel Vachon from Sudbury, Ont., shares how a personal experience with The Salvation Army inspired him to donate.
“The Salvation Army helped my father who worked for a nickel company and broke his limbs in an accident. They went to the hospital to give him and others sandwiches and emotional support,” says Michel.
During his father’s time in the hospital, Michel witnessed how The Salvation Army assisted some of his co-workers and their families. He recalls always seeing the Army’s staff and volunteers present. Since then, Michel has donated to The Salvation Army.
“The Salvation Army has been here for years, and they’ve always been reliable,” Michel says.
There are many individuals and families who have witnessed The Salvation Army’s impact firsthand, and as a result have supported as a form of gratitude.
As the Christmas season approaches, some people are unsure of how to create a joyful holiday experience. In a recent Salvation Army survey, parents with children experienced a disproportionate number of challenges this past year. Fifty-eight percent faced food-related issues. Food insecurity, limited financial resources and housing insecurity continue to make it difficult for Canadians to meet their basic needs.
This GivingTuesday you can change lives by contributing to The Salvation Army. Any gift will have a positive impact on someone in need. To donate, visit SalvationArmy.ca or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY.
