Canadians Agree That Charities are Important

An Ipsos Reid survey conducted in November 2011 on behalf of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) revealed that most Canadians consider charities to be important in filling a gap of needs not being addressed by the public and private sector.
The survey also indicated that:
• Seven out of 10 Canadians have made a financial donation to a charity or nonprofit organization in the past 12 months.
• Most Canadians give to more than one cause (some as many as six or more).
• More donors are giving less.
• Just under half of survey respondents indicated that a lack of acknowledgement makes them less likely to donate to that charity again.
So, is giving to charity important in your life?
What kinds of things do you do to make a difference for others?
