Canadian Elected as the 21st General of The Salvation Army
Following an election process involving Salvation Army senior leaders from across the world, Commissioner Brian Peddle was chosen to take the office of the General on August 3, 2018, following the retirement of General André Cox, who has held the post since August 2013. General-Elect Peddle will serve as the international leader of The Salvation Army.
Commissioner Peddle and his wife Commissioner Rosalie Peddle were commissioned in the mid-1970s as Salvation Army officers/pastors. They began their work with The Salvation Army in Newfoundland and their career has reached across the globe, from New Zealand to the United Kingdom.
The Salvation Army, which currently has more than a million members, serves in 129 countries.
