    Dear friends,

As Divisional Leaders of The Salvation Army in the Maritime Provinces, we are writing to express our support for the people of Ukraine and their loved ones during this difficult time.

We are watching the events unfold in Europe with deep concern, and our hearts and prayers are with all those suffering. May God grant his protection to those affected worldwide and enable them to continue serving all those in desperate need right now.

The Salvation Army is already on the ground providing humanitarian aid for displaced people and those impacted by the crisis in Ukraine and bordering countries in central Europe. Emergency food and housing, counselling, transportation, and more are being provided through our existing Salvation Army locations across Europe.

As an international Salvation Army, we continue to uphold the principles of compassion, care, and service. We pray for our world leaders to look to God for wisdom and exercise discernment as they work to negotiate an end to this conflict. For those seeking spiritual care locally, we encourage you to reach out to your local ministry unit by visiting www.salvationarmy.ca/maritime.

Even in these dark moments, we trust God for comfort and strength and remember that together we are stronger, together we will pray.
