Salvation Army to Temporarily Close Thrift Stores
The Salvation Army continues to closely monitor the ever changing realities surrounding COVID-19, following all regulations from both federal and provincial governments, as well as Health Canada.
The Salvation Army’s Territorial Headquarters has determined that, effective immediately, all thrift stores will be closed to public shopping for the next two weeks. The decision will be reevaluated at the end of this time period.
Select Salvation Army thrift store locations in the maritimes will continue to accept donations of goods at this time. Please contact your local thrift store before dropping off a donation. You can find their contact info on our locations page.
Our thrift stores will continue to support crisis needs of community family services operations. Leadership is working with local Salvation Army locations to determine a safe, effective way to meet emergency needs in each community.
The Salvation Army will continue to provide essential services, such as food banks and shelters, but with a slight change in the way these services are delivered to ensure safety. Please contact your local Salvation Army before visiting their location. You can find their contact info on our locations page.
