Children attending The Salvation Army’s Small Blessing Day Care in Moncton will now be taking bus trips in style. Small Blessings recently acquired its very first bus to pick up children from the Moncton and Riverview areas, making transportation a little easier on families.

Small Blessings Director, Lorraine Veysey says, “The bus is a welcome new addition to the Small Blessings program. With the Small Blessing expansion, we doubled our after-school spaces. The purpose of the bus is to enable us to go beyond our boundaries in terms of catering to after school children.”

In their signature yellow hats, the Small Blessings children hopped on the new bus to embark on their first field trip. As future commuters, it’s never too early to learn about public transit. Thus, the first outing was to Codiac Transpo, Moncton’s public transit facility. The children excitedly chatted amongst themselves during the bus ride. Upon arrival, they were taken on a tour of the facility and introduced to the services and benefits of public transportation. “The highlight of the trip for the children was a bus ride through the bus-wash,” says Veysey.

Small Blessings is both a day care and after school facility that currently serves 114 children between the ages of six months and 12 years. Along with day and after-school care, a morning pre-school program for children age three to four years old is also available.

Small Blessings is committed to providing high quality childcare and early development learning programs. Recognized as a “Centre of Excellence,” Small Blessings has been serving families in the Moncton area for over 25 years.
