Build-A-Bear is enlisting the help of their customers, and their furry friends to help venerable children this Christmas season. From Nov. 1 – Dec. 14, they are asking people to bring in a new, unwrapped toy, or to pick up one of their “furbulous” stuffed animals to donate. Another way to give is to buy a purple satin heart for $1, to help the work that is done by The Salvation Army at Christmastime.

“It’s important to us at the Mic Mac store, to help our community,” says Sarah Trites, Build-A-Bear Assistant Manager. “Everyone has a story and wants to help out somehow. The children that have come to the store are excited to give to other children.”

All donations that are made to the Build-A-Bear campaign go directly to children and families who need it most this Christmas.

“Our Christmas toy collection and distribution takes a lot of effort from a lot of different groups,” comments Velma Preston, director of Halifax Community and Family Services. “When everyone comes together to do their part it helps to make things brighter for a lot of children at Christmastime.”

Donations can be made to the Build-A-Bear in Mac Mic Mall, Dartmouth.
