Mic Mac Mall to host HRM kettle kickoff on Nov. 24

The leaves are changing colours and the temperatures are dropping as we undeniably transition into autumn here in the Maritimes. Before we know it, the Christmas season will be here, bringing with it perhaps the most iconic image of The Salvation Army: our Christmas kettles.

Throughout all three Maritime provinces kettle kickoff events will help get us in the spirit of the season. If you live in the Halifax area, circle Saturday, Nov. 24, on your calendar as The Salvation Army will celebrate the beginning of kettle season with an afternoon of entertainment. Mic Mac Mall, in Dartmouth, will play host to the HRM Kettle Kickoff, which will feature a concert from the Fairview Citadel brass band, greetings from dignitaries, seasonal refreshments and information on kettles in Halifax. The event will run from 2-4 p.m.

In addition, we will be running a contest in conjunction with our Facebook and Twitter accounts. Simply stop by and ‘Like’ us on Facebook or ‘Follow’ us on Twitter (or show us that you already do) and you’ll be entered into a draw for a new Smartphone courtesy of Wireless Wave in Mic Mac Mall. The draw will take place that afternoon, sending one lucky onlooker off with a fancy new mobile.
