Fire Destroys The Salvation Army Prince Albert Community Services on Christmas Day \u2014 Urgent Financial Support Needed to Sustain Critical Programs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prince Albert, SK \u2013 December 29, 2025<\/strong><\/u> \u2013 On Christmas Day at approximately 8 p.m., a fire broke out at The Salvation Army Prince Albert Community Services building at 900 Centre Avenue. The building is considered a total loss as the roof of the structure collapsed. Thanks to the hard work of the Prince Albert Fire Department the fire was contained and did not reach neighbouring businesses or buildings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This devastating loss is impacting the local community as The Salvation Army provided the only warming center in Prince Albert. This leaves a gap in services for vulnerable people during extreme cold and for over 100 people who rely on the daily feeding program run by The Salvation Army. Numerous others relied on showers, laundry, clothing, and hygiene support on a regular basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A temporary warming shelter has been set up in the Margo Fournier Building which will operate from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. until January 2nd. The temporary space will be able to accommodate 35 people each night, and breakfast will be provided. This is a joint effort between The Salvation Army in Prince Albert with support from Crossroads Residential Services in Saskatoon. Relatives Lodge is also available for warm up.     <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe community response has been remarkable,\u201d says Major Ed Dean, corps officer at The Salvation Army Prince Albert. “We created relationships with the community so that we can walk together, and those relationships turned out to be the key to this remarkable response. Our priority is ensuring the mission and services can continue after January 2. The mission will continue, but we urgently need the community’s support.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
