To get in the spirit, there were Christmas decorations around the course, and a Christmas theme in the clubhouse. \u2018Summer\u2019 Santa even joined us at the photo hole so all the teams could get their picture with Santa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It might seem strange to be thinking about Christmas in the spring, but for The Salvation Army in Edmonton, it is top of mind. Every year a project is decided on for this annual golf fundraiser, which has raised $4.2M in its 21 years, and this year \u2018Christmas in Edmonton\u2019 was chosen \u2013 and for good reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLast Christmas, we realized a 25% increase in the demand on our Christmas programs,\u201d says Lt. Col. Brian Venables, Divisional Secretary for Public Relations. \u201cWe are forecasting that same number again this year and thought getting a head start on those plans would help us meet that challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our golfers and sponsors really rallied behind this project, and all golf spots were sold out weeks before the event, ensuring we will get a good head start on our Christmas plans and working hard to ensure everyone has a Merry Christmas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you to all of the sponsors, golfers, volunteers, friends, and supporters of this tournament. The impact you have made on every program and service The Salvation Army offers in Edmonton is nothing short life-changing.
