Jasper, AB.
September 6 – The EDS team has wrapped up their operation in Jasper.
August 26 – We are currently making breakfast, lunch, snacks, and refreshments in Hinton and transporting them to Jasper for volunteers
and evacuees at the Jasper Red Cross site.
August 20 – We are serving in Jasper as part of the Re-entry Support Centre to evacuees and workers during the re-entry process. Buses with evacuees from Calgary and Edmonton will be coming in starting tomorrow and we will serve them lunch, and also a boxed supper for when they return.
August 18 – We have set up a station in Jasper for the re-entry process on August 16, 2024 at the Jasper Re-Entry Support Centre in Centennial Park along with all the services, organizations, and utilities to help residents as they asses their properties and options. This is a difficult time for residents, their families and supports, and for anyone dealing with the trauma of what has happened. We are here to provide food, snacks, a hot cup of coffee and a friendly face to chat, for any person who may need it.
August 6 – EDS arrived in the Jasper townsite early on July 30 to feed 550 firefighters and first responders breakfast and supper. The crew also provided bagged lunches for the firefighters to take with them into the field. The assignment continued until EDS was forced to leave Jasper on Aug 4 due to low air quality in the town caused by smoke.

September 6 – The EDS team has wrapped up their operation in Hinton.
August 26 – Our cooking equipment and bunk house are in Hinton. The EDS team provided lunches and dinners for the busses of evacuees last week. This has now stopped.
August 18 – Our services in Hinton have recently included a few tents at the Humanitarian Services station that includes utility companies, financial services, organizations to help evacuees living here until re-entry is possible. We’ve been providing hot meals, sandwiches, hot coffee, water, snacks, and more to anyone who needs us. This is also where our main base camp is situated where we are cooking and sending out meals from.
August 1 – EDS’s services has moved back into Hinton (due to air quality) and currently serving meals to evacuees in Hinton and Edson.
EDS first arrived in Hinton on July 24 and began feeding 200-350 RCMP and Recovery Team members three meals a day. That operation ended on July 30 with all resources being used in Jasper.
High Level, AB.
The team exited High Level on July 29 after that deployment ended, and services were then re-directed to the Jasper Wildfire response.
EDS arrived in High Level on July 23 for the purpose of serving three meals a day to 600 wildfire evacuees from three communities from the Little Red River Cree Nation (Fox Lake, Jean d’Or Prairie, and Garden River).
Accommodations for our staff and volunteers were provided by our new portable bunkhouse, purchased with the proceeds of the Supreme Group Salvation Army Golf Classic this spring. This was also re-directed to the Jasper wildfire response upon the end of this deployment.
