The Salvation Army is grateful for the support from organizations and companies. These are vital relationships in order for The Salvation Army to continue making a difference in the world. One company that has made a difference for the past five years is Winnipeg’s Bell Media properties, including CTV Winnipeg, 103.1 Virgin Radio, 99.9 BOB FM and TSN 1290. The partnership was born from a CTV fundraising event called Toy Mountain. All stations encourage the collection of unused toys for families’ Christmas needs and then donate them to The Salvation Army.

This year, the event was held at CF Polo Park on Dec. 6th and 7th. Not only were there many television and radio personalities present, but all stations donated airtime to encouraging people to dig deep and give what they can, either with a toy or monetary donation for The Salvation Army to buy additional toys needed.

The final number of toys donated was 33,504. This translated into The Salvation Army helping to bring Christmas gifts to nearly 2,500 families.
