SASKATOON, SK – Local firm, HDH Architects began a fundraising campaign, “Equip the Kitchen” back in July of 2013. Various fundraising events were held such as bake sales and lunches to reach their goal of $1,000.00.  With these evHDH Architects - Fund-raising posterents and other personal donations HDH Architects were able to purchase two high-chairs, two booster seats, 100 soup bowls, serving cutlery, mixing bowls, oven mitts, numerous tea towels and three vinyl dish washing aprons. As well, on October 9th with left over funds they sponsored a special beef tenderloin dinner at the community center, served by some of the HDH staff.

“This type of donation allows me to purchase a nicer cut of meat for our residence and clients having, an extra special meal that night”, Ryan Olson-Director of Food Services The Salvation Army Community Centre.

Thank-you to HDH Architects for our outstanding efforts with The Salvation Army bringing dignity to all, regardless of any dynamic in their life.

Never underestimate the power of a single act of kindness to make a significant difference in someone’s life.  Your act may just be the added lift that someone needs to go from falling to flying.

    About HDH Architects

HDH Architects (formerly Friggstad Downing Henry Architects) have a long history of providing architectural services within our province.  But it is the desire of the company that we leave more than a legacy of buildings, but also a legacy of seeing and meeting needs within our community.

Many years ago, the company started a tradition of supporting the annual United Campaign and the Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family Campaign at Christmas.  Staff was encouraged to participate by means of fund raising of which the company matched dollar for dollar.

The enthusiasm by both staff and company has grown into year round funding raising campaigns in support of a variety of programs within our City.  Fund raising events have included:  silent auctions, raffles, walk-a-thon, bake sales, luncheons, and even this year a very successful Chili Cook-off competition.

In 2012, the firm participated in the CANSTRUCTION design competition for the Saskatoon Food Bank; our Christmas campaign provided gifts for the residents at the Lighthouse, and the United Way Campaign as well.

This year’s fund raising events have been in support of the Salvation Army Community Centre, the United Way Campaign and we have chosen to support the needs of Mumford House as our 2013 Christmas charity.
