The Salvation Army was called into action after a major blaze in Moose Jaw

    Monday, April 2nd— The Salvation Army thrust into action to help those affected by a major apartment fire in downtown Moose Jaw on Monday.  The Salvation Army in the Friendly City served as a reception site for 17 displaced people. Those people remained at the Community Complex from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and were provided coffee, water and pastries. The victims were later sent to the local Travelodge Hotel until other arrangements could be made.  The Salvation Army also handed out multiple clothing vouchers. The Salvation Army is currently working on a long-term assistance plan to help those who lost everything in the blaze. As for the fire, the 100 year old apartment complex near the corner of 1st Avenue and High Street West has been completely destroyed and another has smoke damage.
