Regina, SK – The Salvation Army is always on the lookout to showcase Dignity for those less fortunate.

In Regina, The Army’s newest dignity initiative delivers nutritional lunches to students of Coronation Park Elementary School on 4th Avenue North.  This program meets the needs of 50 kids who may not have access to a healthy lunch every day.

With Canada set to scrap the penny – every penny that you donate could contribute to this program, which costs approximately a $100 dollars a day.

The Salvation Army Haven of Hope Community Ministries has been offering this program for the past two weeks and it will continue for the foreseeable future.

Three-to-four volunteers can be found in the Haven of Hope kitchen every school day morning preparing fresh fruits and vegetables and wholesome sandwiches. The brown bag lunches are delivered to the school each day in time for the noon hour bell and it’s now buying lunches for kids.

People can drop off their pennies at the Haven of Hope Community Ministries office at the corner of 13thAvenue and Lorne Street or The Salvation Army Thrift Store on North Albert (next to the Red Lobster).
