Estevan, Sk – On October 1st 2011 in Estevan the weather cooperated with the employees and volunteers of Canada Post, as they went door-to-door collecting non-perishable items for the local Salvation Army Food Bank.

The 16th Annual Canada Post Food Drive provided much needed help and close to three (3) tonnes of food was collected.  Major Len Millar states that this is our biggest food drive of the year, has come at just the right time, and that he cannot thank Canada Post enough for the donations received.  “Our shelves have been replenished, and we’re now ready for the upcoming winter season” said Millar.

The Food bank has been particularly busy this year, and although the resources have been stretched, it has been able to respond to all needs, including the feeding and additional ‘food packages’ provided to all who were displaced from their homes during the flooding that took place in SE Saskatchewan this June.
