Shaw Helps The Salvation Army Feed the Hungry in Swift Current

Shaw's Together is Amazing Campaign helped fill the Swift Current food bank.

“Harnessing the power of millions” is the concept driving Shaw Communications’ Together is Amazing initiative, and it might just have the power to feed millions.

In fall and winter of 2010, the communications giant led a huge nationwide food-gathering campaign food banks across Canada.

Shaw employees put out collection bins, went door-to-door, and aired a nationwide telethon. In Saskatoon, employees even pulled thousands of pounds of potatoes out of the ground by hand.

All told, the Together is Amazing Food Drive brought in 2.6 million pounds of food.

The Salvation Army is one grateful recipient. Our food bank in Swift Current, Saskatchewan received 1,700 pounds of food and more than $2,500 cash.
