    Gloves, Winter Jackets and Boots in Desperate Need

     

    (Regina, SaskatchewanOctober 24, 2009) Winter is fast approaching  the temperatures are dropping rapidly and as a result, The Salvation Army Waterson Centre is in desperate need of warm Mittens, Gloves, Jackets and Boots for homeless males. “We would like to get this in place before the really cold weather sets in for good, the majority of people that come through our doors are in need of winter clothing” – Jon, Hostel Services Coordinator. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Please drop off these items at the Waterson Centre, 1845 Osler Street, Regina 

    The Salvation Army Waterston Centre reaches out to people with varying needs – to people who find themselves facing multiple barriers within a very difficult world. The Centre provides/offers residential support and counsel to marginalized, displaced, and distressed men through the options of temporary, transitional and long-term lodging. 

    Since 1895 the Salvation Army has been proudly carrying on its 11  15-year tradition in Regina of compassionate care for vulnerable people. When you donate to The Salvation Army, your generous heart works through our willing hands and you serve the community 365 days a year through 6   6 facilities offering  over 40 programs in Regina such as safe shelters, emergency food assistance, counseling, warm clothing, addiction rehabilitation, special care for seniors, as well as emergency and disaster services to name a few.   

    The Salvation Army continues to ensure that the highest percentage of your donation is used in direct service delivery. Where on average, 88 cents of every dollar donated to The Salvation Army is used directly in charitable activities – exceeding the Canada Revenue Agency guideline of 80% donation efficiency.
