The Salvation Army will serve a traditional Easter Dinner on Sunday, April 21, 2019. Dinner will be served at the Windsor Centre of Hope location at 355 Church St. from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Army expects to serve roughly 300 people.

“The Salvation Army has much to celebrate and in the spirit of Easter we want to meet the needs of this community, says Paul Rideout, executive director of The Salvation Army Windsor Community Services. “The meal provides substance for the body but it also provides a safe place for community to come together under the banner of unity.”

The Salvation Army is able to cook the feast, largely thanks to one local philanthropist – who is no stranger to giving back to his community. 29-year-old Windsor native, Sam Sinjari has donated 40 turkeys to make sure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a healthy, hearty meal together on Easter Sunday.

“Windsor has been hit hard with job losses recently. There are people who need a hot meal, but also the companionship, especially on Easter,” says Sinjari. “People go through difficult times…if we get together we can help restore faith and hopefully help others overcome these challenges.”

Last Thanksgiving, Sinjari donated 40 turkeys to The Salvation Army Windsor Centre of Hope.
