One of many emotional moments throughout the live broadcast was Laurie’s story she shared on-air with Taz from FM96.

“Over thirty years ago when my son was little we had to use The Salvation Army…we were out of money, on welfare…they gave us bags of toys, clothes, food. It was very special to have something to put under that tree. To see that sparkle in his eye in the morning to know that Santa still came…didn’t forget (about us).”

Laurie and her husband Les donated two-thousand dollars to help other families who may find themselves in the same situation as they once did.
