The Ontario Great Lakes 13th Annual Salvation Army Golf Day was held on May 28, at the Beverly Golf and Country Club.  144 golfers participated from the division’s business and philanthropic communities and raised over $26,000 toward The Salvation Army Red Shield Campaign.

Special guest for the tournament was NHL alumni, Rick Nattress who golfed a hole with each of the foursomes throughout the day.  The tournament began with lunch, followed by a prelude of the event’s activities from Dan Millar, Area Director for Public Relations & Development, and a shotgun start at 12:30 PM.  The tournament also featured a variety of contests, prizes, and a silent auction.

The evening dinner reception included speeches by guests, a Q&A session with Rick Nattress, and a live auction.  The Salvation Army Shelter Ministry was highlighted throughout the event.  Each golfer was given a blanket as a gift prior to the tournament.  With each blanket given to a golfer, a blanket was given to a Shelter across the Ontario Great Lakes Division as well.  The blanket serves as a reminder that the Shelter Ministry across the Division is a vital service giving assistance to over 35, 000 people in 2014.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors, especially our event sponsor, Old-Republic Insurance Company of Canada, Platinum sponsor, Pipetek Automotive, participants and volunteers, and esteemed guests for making this event a success.
