Beating the Heat in Hamilton

With Hamilton temperatures hitting 35 degrees the humidex reading of over 40, the Chief Medical Officer of Health activated a city wide Stage Two Heat Warning. In response to the heat warning, The Salvation Army has deployed the Community Response vehicle to distribute cold water in Gore Park. “Our priority is to keep people hydrated and healthy, and to keep an eye out for anyone struggling in the heat,” says Major Gary Brown. Between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 p.m. response team had give out 930 bottles of cold water.
