What a spirit-filled weekend! OCE Division held its first Transformissional Leadership Development Weekend this past April 5-7, 2019. It was an inspiring and encouraging weekend! We had delegates from all across our division! Some of whom were Corps Officers, volunteers, lay leaders from Ministry Units or lay employees of The Salvation Army.

Our keynote speaker, Dr. Steve Brown, President of Arrow Leadership engaged the delegates through powerful messages that asked them to reflect on their head, heart and hands. Dr. Brown taught us about shifting our mindset from doing to developing.  Jesus did this Himself as He equipped his people for service (Ephesians 4:11-13). In doing this, we learned from 1 Thessalonians chapters 1 &2 that a developer needs to practice, needs to love, pray, be an example, have perspective, encourage and teach so that others can follow and lead future generations.

Paul Carew leading workshop at Transformissional Leadership WeekendSaturday evening, Eagle’s Flight presented “Promises, Promises!” which was an absolute hit! It had all of the delegates participating and learning how to work and unite with one another. The pictures are proof of what a fun time we had!

On Sunday, Divisional Commander, Lt. Colonel Sandra Rice had a few delegates share where they are from and what they are doing or experiencing in their own ministry units. We prayed over Candidates Jeff Robertson & Miya Bradburn who have taken over the responsibilities at Fenelon Falls Corps, Sarah Wilson of Bethan Hope Centre where they have integrated young families through their programs and introduced them to Messy Church and Lt. Colonel Marsha Bowles who shared about her own Etobicoke community doing acts of service and showing God’s love.

It truly was an amazing weekend that God used to inspire all!
