Early this morning, Salvation Army members gathered at Toronto City Hall as City Councillor Michael Ford on behalf of Mayor John Tory proclaimed December 17th –24th, 2018 as Salvation Army Week. The Salvation Army’s Brass Ensemble accompanied those in attendance with the wonderful sounds of the festive season as Councillor Michael Ford, and Jeff Robertson, Spokesperson for The Salvation Army raised the ‘Red Shield Flag’ at the courtesy flagpole above Toronto City Hall.

We’re LIVE at Toronto City Hall today with City Councillor Michael Ford as we proclaim December 17th to December 24th as Salvation Army Week in this beautiful city. Watch us as we raise our ‘Giving Hope Today’ Flag.

With one week remaining, The Salvation Army is calling on all volunteers and supporters to help us reach our annual Christmas Kettle Campaign goal of $3 million.

“The Salvation Army is truly thankful for those who continue to support our Christmas Kettle campaign,” says Robertson, “Funds received from our kettles stay local and provide life-changing support to those who are often marginalized and overlooked in our communities.”

Money raised through Christmas Kettles stay in the community and support the many social services programs operated by The Salvation Army. Whether you are donating to a physical Kettle that appears at a mall or on a street corner or donating online at FilltheKettle.com, you are helping give hope to those most vulnerable in our communities.
