Eventually Adrien ended up living on the street.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be homeless is rough. You\u2019re always worrying about where you\u2019re going to stay next, what you\u2019re going to have to eat that day, even things like clothing, taking a shower \u2013 it\u2019s very depressing,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Even just three short months in the program have been transformative for Adrien.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Journey to Life program has provided me with incentive to keep moving forward on a good path. The help is there as long I keep wanting to make myself better,\u201d Adrien says.<\/p>\n<p>Journey to Life Centre Executive Director Gary Ferguson says the program provides clients with the skills to create a solid foundation to build upon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s become a safe environment where people can actually go to receive the help they need,\u201d Gary says. \u201cThe Journey to Life Centre is very respected in the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before entering the program in Thunder Bay, Adrien said he was initially reluctant to reach out for some help and support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was ashamed to come here because this is where I thought you came when you are really down and out, but once I saw how people are helped here, how they are not judged, how everybody tries to get you on your feet, I have nothing but good things to say about The Salvation Army and the programs they provide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Salvation Army Journey to Life Centre is &#8216;More Than a Shelter.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/salvationarmy.ca\/ontario\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/05\/WHDPhotoBanner.png\"><img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8084\" src=\"https:\/\/salvationarmy.ca\/ontario\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/05\/WHDPhotoBanner.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"2500\" height=\"924\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adrien Fosty admits that his life has not been easy.
