Belgium Embassy Makes Homemade Meals for Ottawa Booth Centre

The Belgium Ambassador in Canada, Johan Verkammen and his staff are generously supporting The Salvation Army Ottawa Booth Centre clients with 100 homemade meals a week for three weeks to help lift everyone’s spirits during these difficult times.

“Many thanks to the Ottawa Salvation Army for its relentless support to the most vulnerable in our community during the Corona Virus pandemic. To help boost morale, we are providing a full Belgian menu cooked with love including a healthy onion soup, Flemish beef stew and Belgian chocolate mousse! Bon appétit!,” said Johan Verkammen.

The first lunch delivery was made on Wednesday May 6th and clients were so grateful and happy for the delicious meals.

“We would like to thank the Belgium Embassy for their show of support to our staff and for the smiles they brought to our clients faces with the homemade Belgian treat,” said Marc Provost, Executive Director at The Ottawa Booth Centre. “The food was delicious, and we look forward to lunch in the coming in the weeks!”
