The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Kettle Campaign is in full swing in London but with just 6 days left is falling short of its target.  With an increase in demand for services, The Salvation Army’s goal for the campaign is $475,000 but to-date the amount raised is over $16,000 below the same period last year.

With 2 weekends of bad weather so far many volunteers have been unable to be at their assigned kettle location and that has officials concerned.  “During these tough economic times, more people than ever are turning to The Salvation Army”, says Perron Goodyear, Public Relations & Development Representative.  “The Kettle Campaign provides much needed resources for us to provide hope and dignity to those in London who need it most.”

Volunteers are still needed to assist by standing at a kettle.  Anyone interested should call 519-433-6106 or sign-up on-line at www.londonchristmaskettles.ca.
