London’s Centre of Hope residents and neighbours were treated to a delicious Community BBQ on Tuesday, July 9. The fourth annual free BBQ provided a refreshing splash to the “dog days” of summer.  The BBQ was made possible by the generous support of Mr. Zaid Joseph of SE Freight (photo: second from left) who has sponsored this event since it began in 2009. Mr. Joseph expresses joy in providing this simple pleasure to those in need and those who live and work in The Centre of Hope neighbourhood. A sumptuous assortment of food was enjoyed including 1000 hamburgers, 600 hot dogs, 600 servings of baked beans,  800 cobs of corn, 30 watermelons, 900 ice cream bars, fruit and drinks. 102.3 BOBFM attended the event, providing entertainment as attendees feasted. Smiles and laughter indicated the community deeply appreciated the food, music, and company in the festive atmosphere.

Many thanks to Zaid Joseph and SE Freight for his generous involvement in making this year’s BBQ a grand success.
