This past summer, Chef Mark Farrugia of LaPiazza Allegra heard that the food bank at The Salvation Army in Hamilton was in dire need of food donations, including pasta.

It was the Army’s call for help that inspired him to create LaPiazza’s Pound for Pound program.
The Pound for Pound campaign ran from August 1 through October 31 and each pound of pasta sold in the restaurant was matched with one pound of pasta donated by Mark.
The 750 lb delivery truly speaks to the sense of community support in Hamilton and the commitment of chef Mark and LaPiazza Allegra to making a difference in the community.
