Ricky Ratchets Auto Repair is once again partnering with The Salvation Army to host the annual Christmas in July Campaign. From now until August 15 the public is being asked to drop off non-perishable food, personal needs items and school supplies including backpacks to Ricky Ratchets at 140 Clarke Road. As an added incentive, Ricky Ratchets will offer a FREE Oil Change certificate for anyone who makes a donation.

“Ricky Ratchets has put the summer wheels on Santa’s sleigh. Swapping out the runners for summer wheels is how to get the job done when the temperatures are in the 30’s instead of -3 C and The Salvation Army needs some help filling up the cupboards!” says Rick McMullin, owner of Ricky Ratchets. “At Ricky Ratchets we are all about getting the job done and doing it right and we could use London’s help!”

All donations collected will be used by The Salvation Army and distributed through the Centre of Hope’s Community & Family Services. Every month hundreds of Londoners visit Community & Family Services for assistance with the basic necessities, including food. In addition, starting August 1 registration for the Back to School Program will begin for students from junior kindergarten through grade 12. Each student that signs up will receive a backpack and new school supplies to begin a successful school year.

“We are extremely grateful to Ricky Ratchets for their ongoing support of The Salvation Army helping us provide hope and dignity not just at Christmas but throughout the year”, says Perron Goodyear, Public Relations Representative for The Salvation Army.
