Hamilton – The Salvation Army is honoured to have Mr. Murray Martin, Chairman, President and CEO for Pitney Bowes Intl., as a guest speaker for the 2009 annual community luncheon. Bringing over 20 years of experience with the company, Mr. Martin is a valued leader in the international business community whose expertise has been valued and used within the international corporate and political worlds, and now with The Salvation Army.

“The passion and commitment of The Salvation Army is shown in their unwavering dedication to see those that are often overlooked in the community and to stand with those who are most vulnerable. The Salvation Army is an international movement that has given many a bed for a night, or a cup of soup outside in the cold, but has also been woven into the social fabric of our cities so that communities as a whole are improved.” Murray D. Martin, Pitney Bowes International.

On Wednesday, April 29th at the Crowne Plaza hotel in the heart of Hamilton, Mr. Martin will speak on Corporations and Community – Inter-reliant or Independent? Key community members will also have an opportunity to pose a question to Mr. Martin following his address. In today’s reality, many corporations struggle for financial survival and communities struggle to maintain social services with a shrinking corporate tax base. The answers to this dilemma require uncommon wisdom. As The Salvation Army experiences increases in the number of families seeking assistance, Mr. Martin’s insight is welcomed into the solution-seeking conversation.

Photo Opportunities and interviews are available prior to the luncheon program.
